Prohibition is a St. Louis speakeasy that channels the clandestine spirit of the Roaring Twenties with expertly crafted cocktails hidden behind a “secret” door.
A New Era Speakeasy Experience
Inspired by the clandestine speakeasies of the Prohibition era, Prohibition is a tribute to those who defied the ban on alcohol with style, wit, and a sense of adventure. From the Art Deco décor to the sultry jazz playing in the background, we’ve recreated the atmosphere of the 1920’s where every night feels like a secret celebration.
Our bartenders are true artisans, mixing both contemporary creations and classic cocktails with precision, featuring the finest classic cocktails and craft spirits.

Our speakeasy is dedicated to honoring these remarkable women- the unsung figures whose grit and defiance shaped the hidden world of an unforgettable era.

Mary Louise Cecilia "Texas Guinan"
Texas Guinan was more than just a speakeasy owner. A former vaudeville actress, she became a symbol of the Roaring Twenties nightlife. Her clubs were frequented by the rich and famous, and her witty persona made her a beloved figure in the speakeasy world.

Pauline Sabin
A prominent socialite and politician, Pauline Sabin was initially in favor of Prohibition but later became a vocal advocate for its repeal. She founded the Women's Organization for National Prohibition Reform (WONPR), which played a key role in overturning the 18th Amendment.

Mary Dowling
Mary Dowling was a pioneering Kentucky bourbon distiller who refused to let Prohibition end her family’s whiskey legacy. When alcohol was banned, she cleverly shifted her operations to Mexico. Maggie Bailey
Maggie Bailey, known as the “Queen of the Mountain Bootleggers,” built her legacy in the Kentucky hills by running whiskey through Prohibition. Fiercely independent, she supplied her community and outwitted the law for decades, selling alcohol well into her 90's.
